About me…

Qualifications

My greatest strengths are listening, learning, and advocating for those who need it most. I focus on what we can do versus what we can't and figure out how to reach the goal.

I served on a local private school board and school committees for 6+ years, including as president and secretary of the executive committee. In my committee work, I delivered initiatives in curriculum development, staff development, technology, and policy development and execution.

As I prepared for an opportunity to sit on the Grant School Board, I proactively learned about the school budgeting process and OMA through webinars from the Michigan Association of School Boards. I also stay current on policies and budget changes impacting our school. I have consistently attended monthly school board meetings since November 2022.

Endorsed by the Michigan Education Association. I will work with our local GEA and GESPA to ensure everyone has representation at the table. I support staff development and know they are the backbone of our school's success. Ultimately, the students and community are my number one priority, but if we all partner, we can help drive student achievement and success.

I have worked in the technology sector for 20+ years, focusing on customer experience and advocacy. I work with customers daily to understand their needs, identify where the company is falling short, and build a strategic plan to ensure we deliver on those needs. I also identify systemic issues impacting customers and drive internal projects to resolve them.

I have experience leading difficult conversations, navigating State agencies and requirements, and working closely with legal counsel to resolve issues.

My Family

My husband Damian and I live east of Grant in Ensley Center. Together, we are raising our four children. My oldest son recently graduated from GHS and is pursuing a career in welding. My daughter is a freshman at GHS, and my youngest two are looking forward to starting kindergarten next year.  I am actively involved in my local church, my children's education, and their extracurricular activities. I enjoy reading, gardening, DIY projects, and learning new things.
